Disputed Parentage

An Ancestry internet tree claims that Esther Leeper was a daughter of John Leeper (1706-1782) and Mary Finley (b. abt. 1706) of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, but that John Leeper DID NOT name Esther as a daughter in his will, making this claim questionable. There is another John Leeper that is listed as a settler arriving west of the Catwaba in North Carolina in 1763 in "The Germans in North Carolina." In The Palatine Immigrant, vol. 6:1 (Summer 1980), pp. 3-34, that may be a much better candidate as the father of Esther Leeper. Additional research needed.
