He served as a messenger for the church to the Barton County Baptist Association in 1924, 1925, 1928. He later became a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church, Barton County, Missouri.

    Ernest Rector, 78, 1306 Gulf Street died at 11 a.m. Saturday in Barton County Memorial Hospital after a week of ill health.

    Mr. Rector was born June 25, 1899, in Milford, and was a lifetime resident of the Lamar area. He was a member of the Forest Grove Baptist Church.

    He married Bessie E. Taylor March 21, 1921, at Milford. She survives.

    Additional survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bess McClure, Lamar.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. David St. John and the Rev. Robert Uccello will officiate. Burial will be in Round Prairie Cemetery under direction of Chiles-Williamson Funeral Home.

    Contributions may be made to the Forest Grove Baptist Church.
