The following research contributed by Dr. Anthony Troha, Ph.D.: Regarding Ernest Henry Jackson (1856-1928), I had difficulty tracking him because there was at least one other “Ernest H. Jackson” in Brooklyn at the time, if not more. There is an 1880 article [The New York Times, June 24, 1880, Page 8] listing an “Ernest H. Jackson” as receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University that year, while an 1882 news item [The New York Times, May 13, 1882, Page 2] lists an “Ernest H. Jackson” as being one of the individuals who passed the New York State Bar Examination. However, I rediscovered an article on Theodore Frelinghuysen Jackson, which states that his nephew, Ernest Henry Jackson, joined his law firm [The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, Volume XLV, Number 4, New York, October, 1914, Pages 305–307], so he probably is the same individual referenced in the newspaper reports cited above.

Sadly, Ernest passed away, around age 72, while in Cannes, France [I cannot tell if he was living there, on vacation, or on a business trip; the newspaper articles describe him as being “formerly of Brooklyn, N. Y.”, but that probably just refers to his move to Quogue, Long Island, since his son’s death notice cites his parents as living there].
