!OCCUPATION: Baptist Minister !AKA-KNICKNAME: Ito [his grandchildren called him Ito, short for abuelito (grandfather)]. !CIVIL_REGISTRATION_BIRTH: in Coamo, Puerto Rico shows his birth date to be 20 June, 1889. !CONFLICT: Floridalia Bernier says that her fathers grave stone was incorrectly engraved with Ito's birth date. It is shown as 20 June, 1889. Floridalia Bernier (Young) has the birth certificate in her possession which shows his actual birth date as 2 June, 1890. The civil registration records show that he was born on 20 June, 1889, at 5:00 PM in the afternoon. His autobiography states he was born on 2 June, 1889. He was baptised a member of the First Baptist Church of Coamo on 20 September, 1905 by Rev. Leroy E. Troyer. In the summer of 1909 he became an assistant pastor to Rev. Ramon Velez Lopez in the ministry of the Ponce Baptist Church.
