EMMANUEL FRANCIS REICHARD was born in Feb 1850 at Davidson County, North Carolina. He was the third child of eight, three boys and two girls, but the eldest boy. The Reichard GED Newsome lists his birthdate as 27 Nov 1850 but this is contradicted by the 1850 census which lists him as 6 months old in Aug 1850. He appeared on the census of 1850 at Davidson County, North Carolina. He appeared on the census of 1860 at Davidson County, North Carolina. He was generally known by his middle name, Francis. Sometime between 1866 and 1869, Francis moved with his family from North Carolina to Indiana. He appeared on the census of 1870 at Mill Creek Township, Fountain County, Indiana.

He married MARY ELIZABETH HAM, daughter of JOHN HAM and SARAH M. (SALLY) SHULER, on 28 Feb 1875 at Fountain County, Indiana. They had five children, first two boys, then three girls. He was a Farmer in 1880. He and MARY ELIZABETH HAM appeared on the census of 1880 at Jackson Township, Fountain County, Indiana. He was a Carpenter in 1900. He and MARY ELIZABETH HAM appeared on the census of 1900 at Mill Creek Township, Fountain County, Indiana. He and MARY ELIZABETH HAM appeared on the census of 1910 at Union Township, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. He and MARY ELIZABETH HAM appeared on the census of 1920 at 801 Russell Avenue, Union Township, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. Emmanuel (Reichard) was a very quiet man. Mary Hamm was also quiet. Emmanuel built houses as a building contractor. He built 3/4 of the buildings in Kingman (Indiana). Emmanuel built his own house. Jack (Reichard) worked for him as a hod-carrier as a kid.

On the(Crawfordsville) neighborhood
There were two families in the neighborhood besides ours of Cooper relation. Aunt Minnie lived with her daughter Estel (Simmons) and Everett Cooper with wife Bessie and 3 sons.

Grandfather (Emmanuel) Reichard built their home the corner of Liberty and Russell. After his death grandmother (Mary Ham Reichard) rented out the lower level.
