OBITUARY: BURLINGTON - Mrs. Emma Lee Sutton Hilton, 70, of Route. 1, Box 291, Kempner, Texas, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Copperas Cove Nursing Center in Copperas Cove, Texas.

She was a former resident of Burlington. A native of Yanceyville, she was the wife of Mr. Melvin L. Hilton, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Herman Sutton and Mrs. Minnie Lee Isley Sutton, both deceased.

She was a 1949 graduate of E.M. Holt High School and attended Alamance Community College and majored in bookkeeping. She retired from Sears in Burlington in 1992 with more than 22 years of service as a sales clerk and data entry processor. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Leanne Starkovich of Kempner; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. L.H. Sutton Jr..

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Steve Loy, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Friendship Methodist Church cemetery.
