Obit: Mrs. Emmett Semple. Mrs Emmett Semple, 95, 3907 Elmdale Ave, died Friday at a Sioux City Hospital after a two-week illness. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Heaton-Westcott Funeral Home. The Rev. Willard Galloway, pastor of Westlawn Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Bryans, Clarence Lyons, thomas Nettleton, Chris Bern, Lawrence Langford and Garold McClain. Mrs. Semple, the former Emma billings, was born Jan 21, 1879 at Sheldon, Iowa. she attended schools at Sheldon and after graduation at LeMars (0wa Normal she taught rural schools near LeMars for a few years. She was married March 24, 1898 at LeMars and the couple lived at LeMars and in Sioux city before movign to a farm near Akron, Iowa. They returned to Sioux city in 1932. MRs. semple died april 16, 1945 in Sioux City. Mrs. semple had been a member of the Women's Relief Corps since 1903, and was a past president of that organization. Seh was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian church for the last 42 years. Suriviors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mildred) Nosek and Mrs. Roy (Vivian) Moir, both of Sioux City, four grandchildre; 15 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
