Obit Madison Daily Leader 19 Jun 1958. Carrie Semple dies Wednesday. Funeral Services to be Friday . Mrs. Allen Semple, 80, died Wednesday night at Madison community hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Frist Baptist church. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery directed by Hallenbeck funeral home. Mrs. Semple (Carrie Louise Billings) was born Sept 23, 1877 in Sheldon, Iowa. Seh was married to Allen Semple Dec 7, 1898 in LeMars Iowa. The couple farmed in Iowa until 1928 when they moved from Akron to Madison. Mrs. Semple attended First Baptist church, was a member of Mission circle and Ladies Aid and the Womens's Christian Temperance Union. She is survived by her husband; two sons, George and Bob Semple, Sioux City Iowa; five daughters, Mrs. Leo Ney (Leonore), Mrs. Peter Kourkulas (Jessie) and Mrs. Kenneth Jones (Bessie) all of Madison, Mrs. Ferne Alter (Ferne) Alexandria, Va and Mrs. Tom Bang (Wyotolee) Sioux City, one sister Mrs. Emma Semple, Sioux City; one brother Frank Billings, Azusa, CA ,14 grandhildren and 27 great grandchildren.
