born in the Orleans part of Eastham, MA. Held minor town offices as late of Mar 10, 1752. The family moved from the Cape and settled in the viciinity of what is now Doansburg [part of town of Southeast], in Putnam Co., NY. He and his son Elnathan were tenants of a large farm there on Lot #6 in Phillips Patent in 1778 and the hosestead which is still in possession of his descendants was the north part of Lott #11 on the Oblong.
