Wife of John Bayles McWhorter, Sr., a blacksmith. Elizabeth & John were founding members of Bethel Church in 1805. John was elected a ruling elder of the church in 1813, and became Clerk of Session. He removed to Walker Co., Georgia after her death.
Mother of eleven children: Mary Elizabeth (Polly) McWhorter McClure, James McWhorter, David McWhorter, Martha Matilda McWhorter Rogers, Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) McWhorter McClure, John Bayles McWhorter, Jr., Ezekiel Andrew McWhorter, Samuel McWhorter, William David McWhorter, Sarah (Sally) McWhorter Langston, and Andrew Brown McWhorter.
