Jeremiah Eddy m. 30 Jul 1724 Elizabeth Perce, d/o Ephraim Peirce (Pearse) and Mary Low, b. 1700 [probably based on age at death], d. 11 Sep 1801. Quotes U.S. Chronicle newspaper of 17 Sep 1801, Providence: "On Friday morning last Mrs. Elizabeth Eddy, relict of the late Mr. Jeremiah Eddy, aged 101 years, 3 months, 2 days. If may be justly said of the aged lady that through life she possessed many of the best qualities and above all that of a sincere Christian. She was a member of the Baptist Society 77 years. Her funeral was attended on Sunday (15th) afternoon by a numerous train of her Progeny down to the fourth generation. The corpse was conveyed to the Rev. Mr. Snow's meeting house where a discourse adapted to the occasion was delivered before a large assembly by the Rev. Mr. Gano, after which her remains were deposited at the westerly part of the town."
[Note: the birth calculates to 9 Jun 1700, which disagrees with the record of her birth. It appears the date of the funeral may have been mistranscribed, Sunday being the 13th. This notice is also noted in abstract in Source:Arnold, James N. Vital Record of Rhode Island, 1636–1850, Vol. 15, p. 499, but that detail was left out.]
