Mary the daughter of Ephraim Peirce and Mary his wife was Borne the 16th day of November 1697.

  3. Pierce says on p. 50 that this Mary Pierce m. Benjamin Norton. By all appearances, Pierce forgot that on p. 40, a different Mary Pierce of Swansey is said to "m. --- Norton" based on the will of that Mary's father. While two cousins could have both married men named Norton, it is far more likely Pierce is confused. A website says this Mary married Thomas Seamans of Swansea. Records show Thomas and Mary had a daughter Mary in 1717 and Thomas remarried in 1718 which is presumably the source for the death in 1718 shown here, though proof of the identity of Thomas Seamans first wife has yet to be found.
