Although the birth of Jeremiah Eddy is not on record, there is no question of his parentage, for Mercy Eddy, daughter of Seth Eddy, whose birth is recorded and whose parents were John and Mary Eddy, after the death of her father Seth, chose "my uncle Jeremiah Eddy to be my gardine" on Oct. 5, 1747. Jesse Eddy, son of Seth Eddy left a will probated in 1752 and he gave "to my uncle Jeremiah Eddy, 1 silk and cotton handkerchief and to my aunt Elizabeth Eddy, 1 large silk handkerchief and two beaker glasses; to my cousin Rhoda Martin, a cotton handkerchief, to my cousin Barnard Eddy my broad ax." "Uncle" Jeremiah Eddy was the executor of the will. These two records prove that Jeremiah was a brother of Seth Eddy.
