"David Krumm's widow, after his death, continued to belong to ChristChurch. My father said that the church honored Elizabeth during ananniversary celebration as its oldest living member. That must havebeen occurred close to her death in 1924. But it seems that mygrandmother had turned her attention away from Christ Church towardGahanna, probably because of the existence of the Interurban, whileElizabeth was still alive. My father went to catechatical class thereand was confirmed about 1916. He met my mother at Peace Lutheran. Thepastor married them in his study in 1923." page 95 in reference to the depression: "Great grandmother Elizabeth lost a higher percentage of her money thaneither of us in the Gahanna bank. She may have lost the proceeds fromturning in (as required when the country went off the gold standard) alarge leather bag full of $20.00 gold pieces she kept in a drawer in aantique cherry chest in her bedroom. I saw her hand it solemnly, Ithink reluctantly, to my grandfather in the every day parlor of hishouse across the bridge."
