Disputed Spouse

This Elizabeth Lockridge married a man named John Eakin, as stated in the will of Elizabeth's father, William Lockridge; but WHICH John Eakin she married is a matter of dispute among researchers. Some believe Elizabeth married John Eakin (1760-1818) of Jessamine County, Kentucky; while others believe that she married a different John Eakin (c1774-1812) of Shelby County, Kentucky. Neither John Eakin left a will naming a wife Elizabeth and records need to be found to determine which John Eakin that this Elizabeth Lockridge did marry.
