Eliza was 58 years & 17 days old at the time of her death.

Her obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, June 1, 1900.

Mrs. John Shawver of Perry Township died Sunday of a throat and lung trouble at the age of about 58. Her maiden name was Eliza Ann Slates, daughter of John W. and Susanna Slates and a sister of John R. Slates of Carrollton. She was married January 1, 1862, and became the mother of 3 children --- Messrs. William and John Shawver, and Mrs. John Lewis, who with the husband survive. Remains were interred Wednesday at Kilgore, funeral services being conducted by Rev. W. E. Arnholt, pastor of the Lutheran church of which she had so long been a faithful member.

Note -- the original obituary had her sons last name as Slates, but should read as Shawver.
