per letter written by Eliza, her maiden name was Udder. A book on the Udder family says it is Swedish and in the 1500s-1600s they moved from Sweden to Holland. Letter and book at Seventh Day Baptist Library in Janesville, WI. Info from Wm. Palmiter, brother and family bible says middle initial is G.

    At West Edmeston, Otsego Co., N. Y., at the residence of her brother, on the 4th inst., Eliza G. Clarke, wife of Esdras Clarke, of Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., and daughter of David and Esther Palmiter, in the 42d year of her age. Sister Clarke embraced religion in early life, and became a member of the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Brookfield, of which she remained a member until she was called to leave the church militant, and join the church triumphant. Her last sickness, which was consumption, she bore with Christian patience and fortitude, and died in the triumph of faith. She has left a husband and four children to mourn their loss.
