Rec'd from Ann Radford Nov 2012: Eliza Louise Attwood Wood - She was a very ‘genteel’ woman. Her geneolgy goes back to England. She married Albert Wood. He became the editor of the ‘Spokesman Review” in Spokane, Wa. He died approx. 1921. She then had to become a “working woman.” She became a stewardess on the Canadian Pacific Empress Cruise Ships to the Orient. Written by Lura Louise Kaufman. “My first memeory of ‘Grannie’ was when I was between 5-7 years old. On every trip from the Orient she would bring me a gift, a rattan doll baby carriage, as she knew the previous buggy would be lost or broken! I realize now that was very poor training. Later, my mother died in 1929 and by 1933 she became the one stable person in my life. In 1937 she enrolled me into beauty college, giving me a home and a profession. I married in 1940 and by 1943 she was able to live in our apartment; in her own apartment. She helped me and enjoyed her great grandchildren. She died in the spring of 1946. Love Nana” 'Nana' was Lura Louise Kaufman, her maternal granddaughter.
