"In the name of God Amen. I Elijah Perry of the Town of New Lisbon in the County of Otsego and State of New York do make & declare this my last will & Testament in manner & form following. First I resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping and believing in a remission of my sins by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ. And my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named. And my worldly Estate I give and devise as follows -
...First I give to my wife Irene Perry all my Estate during her natural life (excepting such property, as I shall hereinafter give to my children) for her use & benefit. And for the maintenance of my daughter Thelosha Perry, it is my will and desire that she be maintained & supported by my wife Irene out of my said Estate during the whole time she shall continue insane.
...Also I give to my daughter Sibel Warner the sum of One Dollar to be paid to her by my Executor immediately after my decease.
...Also to my daughter Olive Carpenter I give the sum of One Dollar to be paid to her by my Executor within One year after my decease.
...Also I give to my daughter Esther Brackenbridge the sum of One Dollar to be paid to her immediately after my decease as before directed.
...Also I give to my daughter Polly Davis the sum of One dollar to be paid to her by my Executor immediately after my decease. -
...Also I give to my Son Jonathan C. Perry, two thirds of my Estate that shall be left at the decease of my wife, then to have & to hold by himself, his heirs or assigns forever & also I give him my clocks.
...Also I give to my son Orin Perry my desk to be delivered to him by my Executor immediately after my decease.
...Also I give to my son Albigience Perry, the remaining one third of my Estate that should be left at the decease of my wife Irene to have and to hold for himself, his heirs and assigns forever.
...Also I give to my wife Irene Perry, all my household furniture (except such articles as have been before disposed of by this my will) to be at her sole disposal.
...Also I give to my daughter Thelosha Perry, the sum of fifteen dollars to be paid to her by my Executor immediately after my decease, on condition that she shall at that time become sane and of sound mind & if she shall at that time continue insane, it is my will & desire & I hereby order that she shall be maintained with the property which I have given to my son Jonathan C. Perry during the time she shall continue insane after the decease of my wife.
...And I also appoint my son Jonathan C. Perry Executor of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the Twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred & Twenty four.
