    Sacred to the memory of ELIAS BALL LYDIA his wife & ISAAC their son whose bodies lie interr'd beneath the bricks that support this marble. ELIAS BALL was born at Comingtee the 22nd of Decem. 1709 & died at Kensington on the 8th of August 1786. LYDIA BALL was the daughter of Issac Child. She was born at Childbury the 22nd of Sept. 1721 & died the 1st of April 1765. ISAAC BALL was born at Kensington the 11th of May 1764 & died the 5th of January 1776.

Daniel Huger the third, to whom Limerick had been devised by his father, conveyed it on 12th March, 1764, to Elias Ball of St. Johns Parish, Berkley County, as containing 4,564 1/2 acres.[13] Limerick continued to be owned by the Ball family for over a century and a quarter, not passing from their hands until after 1890. ...

On 22nd March, 1740, Francis Gough conveyed to John Coming Ball, 670 acres [14] comprising what is known as "Kensington" plantation (although not so styled in the deed) and on the 11th February, 1747, Edward O'Neale Gough and Francis Gough conveyed to John Coming Ball 1,910 acres [15] comprising what was afterwards known as "St. James" plantation (although not so styled in the deed). These two plantations continued in the Ball family until 1846, when they were conveyed to Dr. John B. Irving. ...

    On 27th February, 1747, Richard Gough, as eldest brother and heir at law of his brother John, conveyed to Elias Ball 600 acres [16] which comprised the plantation known as "Hyde Park" plantation. So that with the later acquisition of Limerick plantation [by Elias Ball], all of the Cypress Barony allotted to Michael Mahon and John Gough, with 734 1/2 acres off the Arthur portion, had become the property of members of the Ball family. ...
