From Sister M. Patricia, O.S.B. [Mary Cecilia Thibadeau] he was a Catholic. He lived in Harrisville, Michigan which is situated along the shore
of Lake Huron. In his later years he lived and died in Duluth, Minnesota. His death cert. says he was a farmer and retired for 5 years. He
immigrated from Canada around 1869. 1920 US Census says his Mother tongue was French. I am assuming that he left Harrisville around 1898 since
his oldest child said in her autobiography, that she was schooled in Harrisville until her 13th yr and then was sent to school in Saginaw, Mich.
Also I find the other 2 children living with Mary L. Donohue in 1900 US census.
Conflicts in his birthyear-On his DC=1859, Census records for 1851-1871=1850, 1880=1949, 1910=1856, 1920=1850 and 1930= 1851. 1850 is the most prevalent. Not sure where I got 1849 from.
From Sister M. Patricia, O.S.B. [Mary Cecilia Thibadeau]
Baptismal Records for Arthur Thomas from St. Anne's Church in Harrisville, Michigan.
From Soundex cards fro 1900 Census. Used this spelling for Fred (Alfred) and Arthur.
From Baptismal Records for Alfred Peter in St. Anne's Church in Harrisville, Michigan.
from baptismal records for Alfred and Arthur.
Came to Duluth Minnesota.
I doubt that Alice was his first wife. He was 34 when they married.
(Medical):There was an autopsy done, he died at 2004 West 3Rd, St. Mary's Hospital.

I believe that his birth year of 1859 is incorrect. Probably was a typo and 1850 was more like it. I find it interesting that his daugther doesn not even know the names of his parents.

This is very hard to read. The surname was transcribed as Fibideau. I don't see a u on the end. I am pretty sure this is our Eli though. He noted that he could not read. His marriage status looks like it might show an M for married.
