Also known as Edward W. Baum. Elias was a carpenter when he and Emma V. Nickle married in 1884. His father was a cigar maker. Elias and Emma were the parents of ten children. The family lived in Tyrone of Adams County prior to moving to Mechanicsburg before 1910. The last record of Elias is in the 1940 census when he was living with his daughter Myrtle M. shields and her husband.
