Mrs. Eleanor I. Hays of Mariasville, Emlenton R.D.1, wife of Walter Hays and an elementary teacher in the Keystone School District, died at 12:30 A.M. Tuesday in her home following an extended illness. She was born at Mariasville March 17, 1918, a daughter of Fred and Maude Ritchey Laughner. She graduated in 1936 from Emlenton High School and from Clarion State College. A member of the United Church of Christ in Lamartine. Mrs. Hays was active in the church affairs and was a member of the Eastern Star, Emlenton Chapter 426. She was married June 6, 1943, to Walter Hays, who survives along with a daughter, Linda Sue, and three sons, Michael R. Donald E. and Fredrick W. Hays at home. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Maude Laughner of Marisville; two sisters, Mrs. Marian I. Hays of Bethel Park and Mrs. Helen B. Ritts of Marisville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
