Funeral services were held at Rose Chapel Funeral Home in Sayre, Oklahoma. Thursday, December 31. Interment was made in Sayre-Doxey Cemetery in Sayre. Mrs. Thurman was born September 12, 1904, in Ben Franklin, (TX) a daughter of Lee and Mattie Carrell Morris. She married Sanford Thurman November 29, 1924, in Cooper, (TX). They moved to Sayre in 1928. Survivors include her husband, S.D. Thurman of Sayre, Oklahoma: two sons, Harold Thurman of Duncan, Oklahoma and Morris Thurman of Edmond, Oklahoma: one sister, Ruby Durham of Tyler: and six grandchildren and seven Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lee Roy Morris. Those attending the funeral included her cousins, Mary Show of Commerce (TX) and Rosie Lee Crouch of Cooper (TX); her sister, Ruby Durham, Tyler (TX); and a niece, Evelyn Leggette, Tyler (TX).
