EFFIE MAY was born at Mitchells Island 18.6.1890 and was Teared there. She married James McCaffrey in 1911 and they lived on the Atkins property at Mitchells Island for 7 years. They then bought a property at Hannam Vale much of which was virgin bush and established a successful dairy farm which still remains in the McCaffrey family. Apart from home and family they were very involved in church affairs, helping to raise funds for the present Anglican Church to he built, They raised 5 children. Effie died 6,8.1961 and James died 25.8.1962 They are buried at Scotts Creek cemetery. SARAH EMMA was born at Mitchells Island 26.10,1892 and spent her childhood there. After the family moved to Upper Lansdowne she married Albert Victor Schubert and they raised a large family of 8 boys & 4 girls. For a while Albert worked in a sawmill at Upper Lansdowne living in a small house near the mill. They then went on to George Atkins’ property at Upper Lansdowne before buying a property at Mt. Coxcomb where they established a dairy farm, Emma was a strong member of the church and also worked diligently to have a school established at Mt. Coxcomb. Leaving some of the family on the farm at Upper Lansdowne they moved to Harrington where they established a milk run. Later they had a store in the village of Harrington. Emma died 22.1.1965 Albert having predeceased her. They are buried in the Lansdowne cemetery.
