Edwin Lauchnor, 81, of Slatington, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 in his home in Washington Township. He was the husband of Phyllis (Gildner) Lauchnor. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last August. Born in Scheidys, April 16, 1928, Edwin was the son of the late George and Mary (Muhr) Lauchnor. He was employed as a material handler for the former General Electric, in Allentown, now named Black & Decker Corp. for 19 years before retiring. Prior to that he worked at the former Giant Portland Cement Co. in Egypt for 22 years.
Survivors: In addition to his wife Phyllis; children, Richard D. Lauchnor at home, Donald L. Lauchnor of Slatington, Lawrence B. Lauchnor and his wife Claudia of Arizona, David L. Lauchnor and his wife Sherri of Slatington, Sandra M. Neff and her husband John of Slatington; sister, Mary Bundy of Bath; grandchildren, David Herman, Jr., John Neff, Jr., Adam Leibold, Sarah Lauchnor, Emily Lauchnor; great granddaughter, Brylee Herman; predeceased by a sister, Mildred Gildner. Service: A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Union Cemetery of Slatington with the Rev. David L. Hess officiating. No calling hours.
