From John Waddington's "Who's Who" 1490 Edward Wadyngton of Northowram and Hipperholme, Halifax. Son of Richard Wadyngton 1465 of Northowram, Halifax. Had issue son---Edward W., md. Ellen Foule of Grindleton. Had a conveyance of land from Richard Waddington and Johanna his wife in 1526---death presented in 1529. Descended from Richard de Wadyngton 1388 of Coley, Halifax. Took waste land in Clifroid and Blakkerwood, Northowram in April 1521. Translated from the Latin Wakefield Manor Rolls, 1521, 1527---. Edward Waddyngton of Hipperholme took 1 rood from the waste of Northowram between Elysroide on the East, Carr on the North, the Highway on the West, and Blakkerwood on the South, at rent of 5s. 1d. per annum. Edward Waddyngton gives for entry 6d. (1527). See Whitaker's History of Whalley 1876, Vol. 2, p. 386 "Edwarde W. of Halifax, gave John Clarke of Halifax his portion, pur parte in Tunworth infra Willatam de Billynton for faurety powndes of lawful money, and will sue at his own costs for a sure and lawful partic' on the be hade and made between John Clarke and John Doyne of Tunworth, within faure years etc. etc. Revision after decease of said Richard & Johanna Uxor 1 acre nup. cep de vasto, ad opus Edward fil, Edward W. defunct." 1529, Edward Waddyngton took from waste half a rood in Soreby with a stream and renders 3s. 1d. per annum. York to John Clark of the same place of all the proportion of lands etc. in Tunworth within the township of Billyngton co. Lancaster that the latter acquired from him by Charter. A. 1405: Indenture whereby Edward Wadyngton of Halifax co. York sells to John Clark of the same place for forty pounds all his portion of lands and tenements in Tunworth in the township of Billyngton co. Lancaster,promising to make the said property sure in law upon Clark's request at his cost, and within four years after the present date to cause a partition of the premises to be made between Clark and John Deyne of Tunworth, with other covenents. 20 September, 19 Henry VIII, 1528. Seal. A. 1406: Grant by Edward Wadyngton of Halifax co. York to John Clark of Halifax co. York of his portion of lands and tenements in Tunworth in the Township of Billyngton co. Lancaster, appointing Lionel Fulle and George Shotilworthe his attorneys to deliver peaceable possession of the premises to the said Clark. 20 September 19 Henry VIII,1528.
