!BIOGRAPHY: Info from Howland genealogy: Edward Howland, son of Samuel (6) and Esther (Brownell) Howland, Jr., b. Scituate, RI 1747 or about 1748 or ca. 1750; d. Halfmoon, Saratoga Co., NY 16 Jun. 1826; will dated 3 Apr. 1826; will proved 6 Jul 1826; he purchased his father’s farm in 1781, sold 80 acres in 1781 and his own farm of 175 acres in 1788; he apparently had military service as he was on the ;Dolphin; bound for South Carolina taken by the British frigate ‘Carrisfort’ Nov. 1777 and sent for on an exchange of prisioners Dec. 1777 He m.(1) Scituate, RI about 1769 SUSANNA KNOWLTON, daughter of Thomas and Lydia (?????) Knowlton; b. Scituate, RI 17 Jul. 1750/1754; d. Halfmoon, Saratoga Co., NY 11 Oct. 1818; bur. Union Cmetery, Stillwater, NY; sisters of Susanna were Mary Knowlton b. 14 Mar. 1756 and Lydia Knowlton b. 24 Oct. 1757 He m.(2) MARY ????? Children (HOWLAND i. KEZIAH b.
