E.F. HARMON DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS- Veteran Rural Mail Carrier Passed Away at Home this Morning.

Edward F. Harmon, age 56, a resident of Elwood and this vicinity his entire life, passed away at 7 o'clock this morning at his home following a long illness from locomotor ataxia.

It was just twelve years ago today that Mr. Harmon, together with John Grimes, and Hershel Grimes made their first trip over rural routes out of Elwood, and from that time until recently when he was taken ill, Mr. Harmon continued steadily on his route, since which time his son has attended to the delivery. He was a trusted and valued employee of the postal service here, honored and respected by his fellow employees and his great circle of friends, all of whom feel his death deeply.

The deceased was married 38 years ago to Miss Marie Rose Savage and to the union were born ten children, 6 of whom are living: Maud Pflueger, George W. Harmon, Gladys Cowley, Henry and Richard Harmon. Two brothers, M. D. and Linc Harmon also survive him.

The deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows order and also of the Christian church and was a man deeply devoted to his home and a man who enjoyed the highest regard of all who knew him. The funeral will be held at the Christian church Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Robert Sellers in chrage. Interment will occur in the city cemetery.
