Person:Edward Cashman (1)

Benjamin E. Braucht autobiography stated that Edward J. Cashman is the brother of Rebecca Anthony Cashman, b. 1858, wife of Theodore Clinton Braucht. In order to help identify this potential, this Edward was added as a sibling to Geo. and Grazella (Johnson) Cashman, noting here that added confirmation is desired. Benjamin E. Braucht autobiography stated, "Uncle John Knott and uncle Edward Cashman (my mother's brother)" etc..

In Iowa Court House Marriage Records find Warren Co. marriage 9 Dec. 1875 of Cashman, Edward, 22 and Braught, Clara L.,18.  Marriage Record N. 145 on pg. 149 of Warren Co., IA dated Dec. 9, 1895 shows Edward J. Cashman, age 22 to Clara L. Braught, age 18. F.C. Braucht, father of Clarea gave consent for his daughter to wed J. Cashman Dec. 4, 1875.  His signature reads F. C. Braught and below that is a signature M.E. Braught (Mary Elizabeth, her mother).  The clerk repeated his spelling of Braucht when he signed it at his office in Albia, Warren Co., Iowa 10 Dec. 1875.  The Return of Marriage license 9 Dec. 1875 signed by Rev. W.J. Bick.  The book page was too large for the photocopy machine at the clerk's office and some of the records were not fully copied.  Also, there was an attached form covering some of the document that I could not manage to safely lift for viewing or for photocopy, but it was located in an area deemed not to cover important data.

Other Cashman data observed was Bessie Cashman, 19 married W.E. shutt, 23 on 21 Dec. 1899 in Warren Co., IA: Jessie Cashman 21 married Uriah Williams, 21 on 2 Nov. 1898: Liberty Twp, Shaver Cemetery with U.F. Williams, father, 1877-1931 and Jessie M. Williams, mother, 1877-1925 with daughter Anna 3 Aug 1916. 1900 Warren Co., IA census shows Charles E. Cashman (born Dec. 1882) and Harold C. Cashman (b. May 1893).
