Note copied from cited Bergen book: "Edmund was born in England and traveled with his family to Boston and Rehoboth. He left in 1650 and moved to Hempstead, LI, NY. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Old Westbury where his family resided for many generations. They were devout Quakers and suffered much at the hands of authorities. Edmund suffered from loss of sight and hearing in his old age. Martha, lived to be 90 and was confined to her bed for many years prior to her death. Ten of their children lived to bring forth families. All their children lived within a 10 mile radius and all were devout Quakers."
