Hw was a soldier in King Philips War, in 1675 and was admitted to the Stonginton church 18 May 1712

Wheeler's History of Stonington says he was a soldier in the Colonial Wars.

Record in the Colonial Wars. Book 7, Page 345: "At a general assembly holden in New Haven in his magestie's colony of connecticut in New Engladn, America on Thursday, the 14th day of Oct., anno regne regis George II Secundi. Magnae Brittanie, Qunito annoque Domi 1731, page 349 (53). This assemby do establishand confirm Mr. Ebenezer billings of Stonington Connecticut aforesaid and order that he be commissioned accordingly."

He and his brother William, served as volunteers in King Philip's War, 1675-6, a service for which they drew lots in Voluntown, CT (Bodge, "Soldiers in King Philip's War", 3rd ed., 1906 pg. 444/5) Since he was called "Ensign" on his gravestone, he is identified as the Ebenezer BILLINGS who was confirmed Ensign of the 2nd company in Stoningham, Oct 1721; and he was Deputy, May 1721-22. (Col. Rec. of CT, 6:232, 275, 304) as quoted in "McArthur-Barnes Ancestral Lines", pg. 137. His parents are William BILLING & Mary _____ (Doc. #899).

In his will, dated 20 Feb 1726/7 and proved 5 Oct 1727, he mentions his wife Anne, his sons Ebenezer, William, James, Increase, and Benjamin, his daughters Anne Hakes, Zipporah Strickland, Margaret Burch, Jemima Baldwin, and Thanful Smith, his grandchildren Mary powers and Tristram Billing, and his father William Billing.
