DURRENCE - Durwood Durrence, 66, passed away on Friday,December 9, 2005. Born in Mendes, GA on August 1, 1939 to thelate Marcus Lee & Ruth Purvis Durrence, he had been a residentof Jacksonville, since 1960. After graduating from High School,he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 6 years. He was in thegrocery business for 44 years and retired from PublixSupermarkets. He was preceded in death by his son SteveDurrence. A loving father and devoted husband, he is survived byhis wife of 46 years, Lavon, sons Calvin Lee Durrence (BeverlyBruton) and William Mark Durrence, brother Marquette Durrence,sisters Marklyn Durrence and Claudette Haddock, grandchildrenEarl, Victor, Connor, Stephanie, and Calee. Visitation will beon Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 3-5 PM at Town & CountryFuneral Home; 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL. FuneralServices will be on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 2:00 PM in theFuneral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Riverside MemorialPark.
