McCoy Durrence
Phillip McCoy Durrence, 69, died Monday, December 27, 2004, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville. The Tattnall County native had lived in Mendes for many years, moving to Jacksonville 46 years ago. He was employed by Tom's Peanuts for 30 years and was currently employed by Bomark Transport Company. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marklyn D. Durrence of Jacksonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Jr. and Neiciee Durrence of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Dennis Parks of Oviedo, Florida, and Candy and Alan Derbecker of Jacksonville; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Dan Hodges of Glennville; one brother and sister-in-law, J. B. and Joyce Durrence of Glennville; five grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 30, at Carter Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 31, at Harmony United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Durrence, Tracy Durrence, Jay Durrence, Mike Durrence, Jimmy Durrence, and Don Kennedy.
Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
