Dorothy Kauffman

Smithville - Dorothy M. Kauffman, 77, 348 S. David St., died Thursday evening, Nov. 1, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Oliver officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call two hours prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smithville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 243 N. Milton St., Smithville 44677. She was born in Canaan Township in 1913 to Harry C. And Alice Derr Sinclair and married Lester L. Kauffman on Nov. 21, 1931. He died April 14, 1987. She was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church and the Timken Retirees. Surviving are a son, LaVerle D. of Wooster; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, a son, Lester G., died Dec. 18, 1978. Two sisters, Lola Sinclair and Grace Young, and three brothers, Vernon, Earl and Roy, also died previously.
