L. G. Kauffman

Lester Gene Kauffman, 41, of 5651 Canal Road, Wooster, died Monday morning at Wayne County Home Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Smithville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Smith and the Rev. Albert Henry officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. at the McIntire Funeral Home for one hour before the service Wednesday at the church. Those who wish may contribute to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. 100 W. Fourth St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. He was born in Dalton in 1937, the son of Lester L. and Dorothy Sinclair Kauffman. He was a Green Township farmer and had formerly worked as a mason and as an employee of Rutt and Amstutz. During 1958 to 1962, he served in the U. S. Marines as an ordnanceman. He was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Marguerite Dauwalder; three sons, Richard, Steven and Fritz, all of the home; his parents, of Smithville, and one brother, La Verle Kauffman of Wooster.

He served in the Marine Corps.
