Doris N. Crilley Weightman was born October 23, 1921, youngest child and daughter of Albert and Sadie (Hayes) Crilley of Smithton, PA.

Their family was poor, and an excellent example was her experience with Santa Claus. As a child, one year Doris had particularly focused to be especially good all year, and another girl who was her friend was not. That friend had happened to be from a family with more money than most others, especially made felt during the Great Depression. When Santa Claus brought the naughty friend so many substantial presents, and Doris received so few and much smaller, she began to think something was not quite right with the Santa Claus story. One Christmas she received a doll, and her older siblings had gotten less nice things, and they were jealous and there was ill feelings about it.

During Christmas, all the Crilley children (Person:Agnes Crilley (1),Person:Ray Crilley (1),Person:Harry Crilley (1),Person:Doris Crilley (1)) would visit several of the local churches (in and near Smithton) during their Christmas parties so that they could collect many treats and snacks from all of them. Each year the fireman gave out very nice gift backs with candy, apples, nuts, and other goodies to all the local children.

Prior to raising a family, Doris owned and operated a beauty salon and gas station in Smithton. She married Fred C. Weightman of Fayette City where they made their home. She was an active member of the Fayette City United Methodist Church; a member of the Yough-A-Mon Campers Club; a scout leader for Boy Scouts of America; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Fayette City; and a ten year volunteer of the Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

She died aged 94 years old on October 14, 2016.
