Fred Campbell Weightman was born Oct. 30, 1906, in Fayette City, the younger son of William (Person:William Weightman (5)) and Myrtle Jean Campbell Weightman (Person:Myrtle Campbell (6)).

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the Brightwell-Dougherty American Legion Post No. 484 in Fayette City. He was an employee of the Allenport Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, serving the last part of his career as a foreman.

He married Doris Crilley (Person:Doris Crilley (1)) and they had three children. Their second child, Sally Jean (Person:Sally Weightman (1)), died of sudden infant death syndrome.

Fred Weightman was a member of the Fayette City United Methodist Church. He had been active in the church choir for a period of 60 years. Mr. Weightman had also been active in community affairs and was a volunteer worker at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Fayette City.

He died aged 81 on Friday, Nov. 27, 1987, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.
