    "Gary, … Dorcas, inf. d. _____, wid. Nath[aniel], small pox, bur. 21 : 12 m : 1678-9 [21 February 1678/79]. (church record, First Religious Society, Unitarian.)"

[The formatting of this record is a little confusing. Presumably the dash indicates a missing death date (or, possibly, daughter of {baptismal name unknown}) "wid. Nath[aniel]" mentioned because the father Nathaniel had himself died about a month before, on 29 Jan 1678/79. It seems quite possible (see detailed discussion on Person talk:Rebecca Gary (2)) that the death of Rebecca Gery 19 Feb 1678/79, given on p. 2:532 of this same source, was meant to be Dorcas, since Rebecca appears to have died prior to this date.]

  3. Since Dorcas is listed as an infant in her burial record, her birth probably did not long precede her burial. The previous sibling, Deborah, was born early 1676, so it was probably late 1677 at the earliest, or more likely 1678.
