Letter from Judith Ziegler Woodard to granddaughter, Anna Woodard, December 2020: Anna, many of your ancestors have loved Jesus. Don and Marcella were Christians. Don's Mom, Margaret, was a Christian and got them to go to the little Alliance church on Leighton Street. It was not the best part of town, but it was evangelical. We went there, also, until the new church was built on Route 307, just east of Kenton - Kenton Christian and Missionary Alliance. We attended there until moving to West Milton [Miami County, Ohio]. Marcella often helped in the nursery and prepared communion. Don was a trustee and did repairs and more for the church.
