Mr. McChesney ... had reached the turn in the road at Peking when the steering gear of his car gave way. The car turned over and he was caught among the shattered glass and wreckage. .. It was found that he had a badly wrenched shoulder and many cuts from shattered glass, but no broken bones. He was able to return to his work Friday. McCHESNEY DIES JULY 7TH Mrs, Alice Gay McChesney, 78, Mrs. McChesney is survived by two sons, Donald McChesney of Orwell Pulaski Democrat, 21 Dec 1967: 40 YEARS WITH N-M POWER CO. Donald McChesney, Orwell, is pictured in the December issue of 'Niagara Mohawk News', a monthly publication of the company for which he works. His photo appeared on the page titled 'Service Anniversaries' and was among those receiving recognition for 40 years' service with the public utility. Mr. McChesney, a graduate of Pulaski Academy, has been at Bennetts Bridges and Lighthouse Hill for all 40 years of service, and is an operator. He and Mrs. McChesney, the former Golden Lynn, have two children, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Visser of California, and Donald J. McChesney of Lacona. They also have two grandchildren. McCHESNEY, ORWELL, DIES AT 86 Donald H. McChesney, 86, of 7723 Mill St., died Monday at his home. A private funeral will be Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There will be no calling hours... Born Sept. 9, 1908, in Williamstown, son of Alva and Alice Gay McChesney he married Golden A. Lynn Aug. 22, 1928, in Pulaski at the home of the Rev. Albert E. Lawrence, who officiated. Mr. McChesney was an operator for the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. at Bennett's Bridge for 46 years before retiring in 1973. He was a member of the 25-Year Club at Niagara Mohawk, a founding member of the Cousteau Society, and a former Boy Scout leader and baseball coach. He served on the Sandy Creek Central School board of education and was a retired member of the Orwell Fire Department. References
