  2. See a discussion on the parents' Family page why the birth estimates found in Source:Thayer, Bezaleel. Memorial of the Thayer Name, from the Massachusetts Colony of Weymouth and Braintree, Embracing Genealogical and Biographical, p. 140, are not trusted. The 1728 will of his father says, "my Son David Thayer, & my Son Ezechiel Thayer, (who have built together)", in the paragraph after he discusses his oldest son Cornelius, which suggests David is younger than Cornelius, but since named first, older than Ezekiel. We don't have any good clues for where Moses fits, but Moses' marriage requires Moses born bef. 1702 and we assume nothing more. If Moses is older than David as Thayer proposes, it is expected that probably Cornelius's birth is earlier than the minimum 1696 and Moses fits between him and David.
  3. In the probate father of his father, David is listed as deceased. This appears to be in the judge's notes figuring out the settlement so presumably occurs before the 6 Feb 1738/39 bond of Gideon to pay the amounts called out in the settlement. Thayer indicates David had a child born in 1738, but the last child found in the records was born in 1733. No probate was found.
