- Pursued peace and was great in his wisdom
- Spoke the truth, acted righteously
- His rights will protect his offspring
- And his way in burial will bring him rest

10 Jan 1870. David Litmann family in 1869 census in Szepes - ↑ 2.0 2.1 His gravestone is in the Jewish cemetery in Kirchdorf / Szepesváralja / Spišské Podhradie. It identifies him as C'H Isser David, son of C'H Zeev Littman A"H. The date of death is given as the second day of the intermediate days of Passover in the year (5)642. Passover commenced on 4 Apr 1882. The "second of the intermediate days" could refer to 5-7 Apr, depending on how the intermediate days were reckoned, and whether he died before or after sundown.
