He married JOANNA COBB January 27, 1763 in Scarboro, Cumberland Co., Maine. She was born 1742 in Falmouth, Cumberland Co., ME, and died in Wales, Androscoggin Co., ME.

Laura Giles, former Clerk of Sabattus, Me. who took the information out of the old Wales Plantation records, it seems Daniel Small was the plantation clerk for a while there and put his information into the records.

Daniel 5 was born May 19, 1736, according to "Mayflower Families . ." vol 18 part 2 p 90.

Robert Taylor's "Early Families of Limington Me" p. 302 says he died in Wales, ME.

Mercy is listed as the first of their 8 children in "Early Families of Limington, ME" by Robert

Taylor, on p. 301. This same information is found in "Maine Families in

1790, vol 2, ed. Ruth Gray (ME Geneal. Soc.) on p. 253 and the editor sites

"Limington Families" by Sybil Noyes and "History of Monmouth & Wales [1894]

2:appendix as her sources. The Gray source uses the spelling Marcy, but

parents, dates, etc. are otherwise identical.

Father- Daniel Small, born 19 May 1736 in Provincetown, Barnstable, Mass . Married 27 Jan 1763 at Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Joanna Cobb born ca 1742 in Falmouth or Limington Maine. Both lived in Scarboro at one time. Daniel died 23 Sep. 1830 in Wales, near Sabattus. Daniel, when about 16 was captured by Indians while living with parents in Castine he was taken at Madumcock in Sept

1756. He was sold to a French Col. and remained captive for 11 months. He was rescued in Quebec by General Wolf of the Colonies.

5. Daniel Small b 23 Oct 1780 in Scarboro, Me. married 3 Feb. 1804 in Unity. Susannah Jackson. She died 13 Jun 1813 in Unity, Me. Daniel settled in Unity and had 11 children.

6. Lemuel Cobb Small b 1784 in Topsham, Sagaadahoc, Me. married Betsy, he died 27 Aug 1849.
