He also mentions Peter Woodbury. There was another Hannah Woodbury in Gloucester dau of Nathan Woodbury born 26 May 1715 who was too old to be the wife to Daniel Merchant. She would have been 52 when their last child was born - far too old. And she would have been the wrong age at death 63. Hannah wife of Daniel Merchant died 19 May 1779 aged 56 which matches Hannah daughter of Caleb perfectly. The claim made that Daniel Merchant married the daughter of Nathan Woodbury which was made by Frank R. Merchant in The House of Jabez: Chronicles of the Merchant-Marchant Family from 1721 (Decorah, Iowa, 1987), 22 is so blatantly wrong that one wonders why it took until 1999 for this to be published. The author doesn't even go into the fact that Caleb Woodbury's family had numerous relationships to the Merchant family. Nathan Woodbury's family does not. The author does mention Caleb's son Peter Woodbury but doesn't even point out that he was father to Rebecca Woodbury who married her cousin Jabez Merchant who was Daniel's son.
