    In 1688, there is a tragedy. "Cause of death of Ann Hawkins presented by ye Corner to this court to be from a mare she rid upon; occasioned by another horse that was tyed to her tayle going by the way on the contrary side of a tree, which caused the mare suddenly to stop so that she fell from the said mare and was killed." "Was she Daniel's wife? It would seem so since he left his property to his brother-in-law."
