    Dorothy  (Dorythe) Mattock, the daughter of Stephen Mattock,  was christened at St. Leonard’s, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, England 02 Jan 1641. St. Leonards was replaced in 1868 due to subsidence. The current parish church is St. John The Evangilist. [26 Jan 2009. PAH]. The original records are in the Wiltshire County Record Office, Trowbridge. FamilySearch copy is available in Batch # C152391, Dates 1564-1884, Source Call #: 1279342.

    Dorothy married Jeffery Hawkins at All Saints, Norton Bavant (a mile north of Sutton Veny) in 1662. The following was copied from the All Saints Parish records.

1662. Jeffery Hawkins and Dorothy Mattock were married. (No other details) 1663. Margaret, dau, baptized 6th Feb 1663/4 - 1668 Jane, dau baptized Sep 13th. 13th Sep 1668 - 1670. Jeffery, son baptized Sep 18th. 18th Sep 1670 - 1672. Anne, dau baptized Nov 24th. 24th Nov 1672 - 1674. John, son baptized Feb 12th. 12th Feb 1674/5 - 1678. Roger, son baptized Jul 14th. 14th Jul 1678 - 1680. Sarah, dau baptized Jan 25th. 1st Nov 1680 - 1681. Anne Hawkins was buried. May 27th. 25th Oct 1681 - 

    Dorothy died in Pennsylvania, USA in 1685. Jeffery, her husband, remarried in 1887.
