Facts and Events
Anne Louisa Kate Turner was born on 10th June 1903 at Castletownbere in County Cork, Ireland. She was the daughter of Maude Turner, formerly May, and her husband Edward Thomas John Turner, a coastguard. She appears to have been known as Daisy. The family was English but had been living in Ireland since the late 1890s. After Anne's birth the family returned to England, where the 1911 census finds them living at St Just in Penwith in Cornwall. They later moved to Plymouth, which was where Anne's mother Maude was originally from.
Anne's father Edward died in 1932 in Plymouth. At the outbreak of the Second World War, Anne was living with her mother and sister Lilian at 7 Segrave Road in Plymouth. Anne was working as chief clerk to a haulage contractor at this time.
Anne's mother Maude died in 1941 whilst staying with Anne's sister Gladys in Weymouth.
Anne never married. She lived to be 70 years old and died in Plymouth in 1974.

Daisy is known about from the 1911 census. There is no Daisy Turner birth registered in Ireland at a plausible time to be her. The only Turner registered in Castletown district (which covered Castletownbere where Daisy was said to have been born) is this Anne Louisa Kate Turner. The middle names Louisa Kate appear elsewhere in the family; Daisy's mother Maude's sister-in-law was called Louisa Kate May. The fact that Anne Louisa Kate Turner then turns up in Plymouth and that there are no other Turner births marriages or deaths registered at Castletown suggests that this Anne Louisa Kate Turner is the same person as the Daisy Turner of the 1911 census, although the birth certificate would need to be obtained to be sure.
