BURLINGTON — Mrs. Daisy Scott Smith, 83, of 3027 Maple Ave., Burlington, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at 11:15 p.m., at Alamance Regional Medical Center following one month illness

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Roy L. Smith Jr. and daughter of the late Elbert Scott and Dovie Graves Scott. She was a retired secretary with Burlington Industries Pioneer Plant and a member of Rock Creek United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her friend and caregiver, Mr. J. B. Suttles of Elon.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 28, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington with Mr. Mark Tope officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service in Burlington from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
