Kewanee Weekly Courier 17 February 1892 "Another old citizen of Galva Township passed away last week. Mr Cornelius Sullivan died of pneumonia at his home three miles northeast of this place, Feb 8thy. His remains were taken to the Kewanee cemetery for burial. Mr Sullivan was an honest man, a kind neighbor and highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his loss. By his never-tiring industry and economy, he leaves to his children a large and fertile farm."

Need to find immigration papers and ownership papers. Immigration papers found in both N.Y. and Il but does not include background form with declaration of intent. Patrick Colfer was naturalized the same date as Cornelius and his father, Moses testified for Cornelius. Family found in 1860 census living in Galva, Illinois. Need to find Patrick's immigration papers. Also a James Colfer was naturalized on 31 Oct 1876. There are no Colfers listed in the Kewanee Catholic Cemetery. They may have moved on. Moses was born in about 1824 in Ireland. In Tom's obituary it states that a Tom Colfer was notified who was a distant cousin of the Sullivans. References
